We are proud to bring you one of the latest inventions in dentistry: the diode laser.
Why Laser Dentistry?
Laser is a device which uses high density laser beams for treating soft tissues as well as hard tissues. Laser Dentistry has been revolutionary, it has changed the mindset of millions that a dentistry procedure can be less time consuming and most of all, it can be pain free! You will face no sutures in the procedure, it is much more hygienic as the heat from the laser kills all the bacteria. As soon as the blood comes in contact with the laser it get coagulated thus resulting in almost no blood loss.
The FDA has cleared the following indications for use of the diode laser.
- Gingival troughing for crown impressions.
- Gingivectomies.
- Gingivoplasty.
- Gingival incision and excision.
- Hemostasis and coagulation.
- Excision and incision biopsies.
- Exposure of unerupted teeth.
- Fibroma removal.
- Frenectomy and frenotomy.
- Implant recovery.
- Incision and drainage of abscess.
- Leukoplakia.
- Operculectomy.
- Oral papillectomies.
- Pulpotomy.
- Pulpotomy as an adjunct to root canal therapy.
- Reduction of gingival hypertrophy.
- Soft tissue crown lengthening.
- Treatment of canker sores, herpetic, and aphthous ulcers of the oral mucosa.
- Vestibuloplasty.
- Sulcular debridement (removal of diseased, infected, inflamed, and necroses soft tissue in the periodontal pocket to improve clinical indices including gingival bleeding index, probe depth, attachment loss and tooth mobility).
- Laser and soft tissue curettage.
- Removal of highly inflamed edematous tissue affected by bacteria penetration of the pocket lining and junctional epithelium.
- Laser assisted whitening/bleaching of teeth.
- Light activation for bleaching materials for teeth whitening.
